I'm getting Married...

Because posts have started to lag, I'm going to bring this up here. I'm getting married soon, and I'm attempting to compile a good Marriage mix. I'm looking for both fast and slow, both sappy and solemn, both obscure and familiar--but never cliche. Any ideas?

Congratulations.

some tracks off the top of my head..
Morphine "In Spite of Me"

James "All Out to Get You"

*ahem..clears throat* CyndiLauper"TimeAfterTime"

Al Green "For the Good Times" (killer track)

Neil Young "Harvest Moon"

ah yes..The Police "Wrapped Around Your Finger" !!11!1

you could go the "cross index my significant other's name in the sappy tunes database" route. (You know, like Bread performing "Aubrey" for an Aubrey...etc.)

Congra again!

I think I'd have to go with William Shatner's rendition of "Everything I Do", a stellar cover of the Bryan Adams yuckfest.

there's been a lot of lip flapping over nina, I'm flappin again

nina simone - body and soul

Sarah Harmer - native soil

Bobby Womack - Harry Hippy

Great allusions to love, not entirely sappy.

Rus, I just got off the trail to find that you are announcing your upcoming marriagefest all over this blog. I'm sorry it's taken a few days for me to respond. I've already made you and Kacy a make-out mix that was pretty top notch....but if I was going to add another to the list of songs I hope you go at it to........I'm going to say ABBA-Fernando, The Cure-Let's Go to Bed, and Chicago-You're the Inspiration.

I always thought All Out to Get You was a sad song. I listen to it when I'm sad. And I listen to Destiny Calling when I'm MAD.
